Google Tersaingi Groovle

Perusahaan mesin pencari raksasa, Google, merasa gelisah dengan munculnya mesin pencari informasi gratis Groovle.com. Groovle dengan sengaja menyerupai Google dari segi tampilan dan tata letak laman.

Google menyebutkan sebanyak 207 perusahaan asal Kanada yang tergabung memiliki Groovle dengan jelas memilih nama itu untuk membuat kesamaan yang membingungkan. Google sepakat, pengambilan nama domain tersebut harus terlebih dulu mentransfer data-data ke Google.

Menanggapi sengketa ini, mediator dari National Arbitration Forum (NAF) mengatakan bahwa Google tidak perlu memberikan bukti apapun atas kebingungan yang sedang terjadi. Tim mediasi setuju dengan sanggahan yang diberikan oleh perusahaan asal Kanada tersebut, yang berpendapat bahwa nama Groovle lebih mirip dengan groove atau groovy ketimbang nama Google. Demikian keterangan yang dikutip dari Telegraph.

Pemberian nama domain dapat dibatalkan atau dipindahkan ke perusahaan lain bila tidak memperhatikan tiga unsur yang haram untuk dilanggar ini. Pertama, pemberian nama domain memiliki kesamaan identik dan membuat bingung. Kedua, pemilik nama domain tidak memiliki hak paten untuk memilikinya. Ketiga, pihak yang merasa dirugikan harus menunjukkan bahwa tujuan kemunculan domain itu terkategori menjatuhkan dengan kesengajaan.

Mediator NAF memutuskan bahwa keberatan yang disampaikan Google dianggap gagal membangun ketiga unsur tersebut. Dengan kata lain, kehadiran Groovle.com dinyatakan tidak memberatkan domain perusahaan lain.

Terdapat sebuah pesan di bagian bawah laman Groovle yang mengatakan “Groovle.com tidak dimiliki, disponsori atau didukung oleh Google”. Namun tidak diketahui apakah keterangan ini telah ditambahkan semenjak keputusan NAF dikeluarkan atau tidak.

  1. WHy would he get dropped by pride when they’re matching him up with a can? Can’s serve one purpose, it’s to make big names look BETTER. And with Rampage most likely beating the crap out of Dong Sik, Pride isn’t going to “drop” someone whose just won a fight. Let alone someone who has an established history of prosper with the organization. Pride isn’t like the UFC where they drop long-time fighters after a victory. Common man.
